FACEBOOK Status for year 2010: A Look Back

I just want to share my Facebook statuses for the year 2010.

Such a memorable year to cherish. Looking forward for new statuses for the year 2011.

ANN WARD; My Type of Girl ^_^

Damn this girl. The last time I saw her was when she was awarded as ANTM's Cycle 15 Winner. Something in here is unexplainable. And I mean her natural beauty especially when the flicks of the camera starts. Gosh! I wonder what she is doing right now after the reality model search by Tyra Banks.

Just reading something from http://www.wetpaint.com/americas-next-top-model/cast/ann made me realize that in some ways, we do share something in common. Playing RPGs, watching animes.

Hmm.. she really was an interesting girl. Weird as they would say but she doesn't look weird to me instead a unique beauty. My Type of Girl.

The picture above was captioned sample shots for Vogue Italia. Hmm.. She is really pretty.. <3

The Girls In My Life (part1)

Ever wonder who are the girls who completed my life? Basically, they are those who gave me the reason to live. These are the girls who gave me the exact opposite of happiness, sadness, tears, joys, nights, days. I love these girls as much as they love me. I love these girls as much as they love their partners. And most of all, I love them co'z they are the only group I call my biological family; my Mom and my sisters

Maymay is our "bunso" and will always be our "bunso" even if time change her physically. She will always be our little brat (smiles) but despite of those tantrums we always believe that she can cope with it as she grows and become a woman. Hmm. I am certain that sooner this lil sister of ours will make it big with her academics. Just recently, she messaged me telling that she is one of the top ten (again ) in the class placing at sixth. No wonder where she got those brains. It runs in our blood.

This little sister has made it to the highest recognition anyone from the family have gotten. If you try to Google her name, it will always be paired with PGMA. Why? Her academic excellence was recognized by the ex-president Arroyo when they, together with her classmates in elementary, topped the i-dont-know-whats-it-called-exam and they were invited to the Malacañang Palace (i guess). I was suppose to be there but time did not allow me.

Our family is proud of this petite but bright girl co'z she has the future of a good child and a good sister and a good daughter.

I love Maymay. One of the girl who made my life complete.

She currently is a fourth year high school student and soon will enter college. As of this time, this is the only thing i saw in the internet. This is her score in the Mindanao State University - Marawi Campus College Entrance Exam. We are yet to know if she pass or not. If she did, that would be a bliss.

The Worst Case Scenario

What if things end unexpectedly?

Blank.

Blank.

Blank.

Now I'm thinking about worst case scenarios.

First, how many times did you pray that things would just end as easy as turning off the TV after watching a great show? Did you ever feel like you wanna come out from suppression? Suppressing your feelings, suppressing your life. We all know that there are a lot of things that we can do and just by doing it alone we survive. We never did ask for someone to help us with our journey though. We always end up questioning ourselves how would we turn, how would we deal, how would we accept and how would we repent. Such things are just the manifestation of you living in this vast environment. If you are not thinking about it then start asking yourself what is your worth in this world.

A lot of times, my mind has been traveling in a lot of possibilities and impossibilities. My thoughts were sometimes vague that people don't seem to understand me. And most of the times, I pitied myself from sitting alone in a dark room trying to imagine and fathom the vagueness of things around me. Yeah those were the best of times for me. Knowing what needs to be seen and done, creating my own set of expectation. That's how I realize my worth.

The worst case scenario, I ALWAYS END UP DEFEATED BY MYSELF.

Second, did you ever wonder how great the world is? People come and go. Did you ever notice that day by day people are just doing the same routine? Those are the things that we sometimes miss. Our eyes are just watching the vast world but not looking the realms of it.

They say that the world is full of surprises and that we are the key to open a door for a surprise of our life. I wonder how it would be dealt with. Imagine someone asking for a surprise and as he opens the door, plague covered him. That is not a good surprise. That is what you call reality in this world.

People are just to blind to see that surprises has two faces, bad and good, negative and positive, pro and con. Everybody knows the general rule: "We live with consequences and choices".

As you open your eyes to a new day, you are not even sure what would happen this day. Your thoughts are blank. You know the reason why when you just woke up and your mind is not working immediately? Its because while we are in a deep slumber, the world gives us the opposite of sometimes what we call reality. These premonitions will inculcate in your mind thus bringing it up until your REM ends its course. Surprise! A new vague day.

The worst case scenario, I AM DEFEATED BY THE FACT THAT I LIVE IN A DARK AND LIGHT WORLD.

And lastly, who are you?

The worst case scenario, I STILL DON'T KNOW WHO I AM UNTIL NOW.

Simbang Gabi (Mass at Dawn)

SIMBANG GABI

courtesy of http://www.rcam.org/library/SIMBANG_GABI.htm
SIMBANG GABI is one of the longest and most popular among the Filipino traditions in the country. It is when Catholic churches across the nation start to open their doors shortly before the break of dawn to welcome the faithful to the Simbang Gabi mass.
Simbang Gabi or Mass at Dawn is a nine-day novena to the Blessed Mother. The novena begins December 16 as early as 4 in the morning and culminates with the “Misa de Gallo” on Christmas Eve to welcome the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. In some churches, the panuluyan is reenacted showing the effort of Joseph and Mary to find a suitable birthplace.

ORIGIN

Simbang Gabi traces its roots in Mexico when, in 1587, the Pope granted the petition of Fray Diego de Soria, prior of the convent of San Agustin Acolman, to hold Christmas mass outdoors because the Church could not accommodate the huge number of people attending the evening mass.
During the old times, the pre-dawn mass is announced by the ringing of the church bells. In some rural areas, an hour before the start of Simbang Gabi, a brass band plays Christmas music all over the town. It is also believed that parish priests would go far knocking on doors to wake and gather the faithful to attend the misa de gallo. Farmers as well as fishermen wake up early to hear the Gospel before going to their work and ask for the grace of good harvest.

SIMBANG GABI NOW AND THEN

The changing of times does not break the preservation of celebrating Simbang Gabi although it is celebrated in new ways. Still, the tradition of Simbang Gabi continues. Part of it are the colorful lights and lanterns that fill every streets. Beautiful parols are hung in every window. Songs of the season are played everywhere to warm the hearts. Families, friends and even individuals find its way going to the nearest church to attend the nine-day novena. Shortly after the misa de gallo, families gather in their homes to celebrate Noche Buena and feasted on various delicacies like queso de bola, bibingka, puto bungbong, or a drink of salabat or hot chocolate.

SIGNIFICANCE

Simbang Gabi has become one of the most popular traditions in the country. But it is not just a tradition that is celebrated because we need to do so. It is a significant moment not only because it strengthens relationships among family members but also because it is the time where our faith is intensified. This is the time where we mostly feel the presence of the Lord because it is the spiritual preparation for Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ. It does not matter if one has the stamina to complete the novena or not, what really matters is what is inside the heart. The blessing does not depend on the number of mass attended, but what is important is the disposition of the person who receives the Lord’s blessing.

SUPER "ArTeAr" ; or Making Some Changes Within Yourself

this is copyrighted. Gitmo's Super RTR caricature
This is a surprise caricature presented to me by one of my friends while we are chatting. After telling him about some changes within our workplace, I never thought that his hands where drawing something when I told him that everybody are soon to wear black cape and black tight suits with embossed acronym RTR.

Surprised about the drawing he sent on my email, I tried to seek for some reality inside me. I mean, with these changes there should be some things that we need to reconsider and think about.

After hearing one of my colleagues telling me about some slight changes, I can say that moving on and changing things should be one reality that not just me should see but as well as my colleagues.

Drastic changes are really one of those things i hate especially if it does mean poor outcome to every affected individual. If you can imagine yourself be sick for only one day in 3 months or 4 days in a year, that's a total mess. Or if you can put yourself in someone else shoe being in a situation such as you are limited to see your friends and family, i guess that would be another hell.

Anyways, in the meantime, we will be representing the drawing in this blog. But, I will never be forever like this.

The Book Collection and a Classic Movie : Shakespeare, Mitch Albom, The King and I

The Original Book which Romeo and Juliet was  based
We invaded Trinoma yesterday while waiting for our colleagues thus instead of just sitting in Starbucks and sipping those Toffee Nut Venti coffee, me and Wea walked around and tried to window-shop. Each stall and store caters variety of items but as I have told you, book shops always plays a nice place to pick some things that I can buy worthy for my leisure time. Ten minutes of looking from shelf to shelf, I decided to ask the saleslady for one book that i have been looking for, Mitch Albom's "The Five People You Meet In Heaven".

After the lady give us the right shelf to pick the book, I picked one copy and jump to another shelf where I saw the Shakespeare books. I have always been fascinated by Shakespeare's literary and so after deciding what to pick, ROMEO and JULIET landed on my hands.

Now added on my book shelf are these books. But my journey in picking up some good reads will not end here. There are still a lot of books that i want to have a copy of. Shakespeare, Jostein Gaarder, Dan Brown, J.K. Rolling etc etc etc.

Soon I might need some new shelves for my books but in the meantime, while my collection is still incomplete, i got to stick with what i have.

Reading has been one past time i am into now. I guess the internet is starting to bore me thus I am more on just on updating my blog page.
The King and I (1956)
Anyways, while I am writing this, a classic movie is playing. This movie seems to popular to all art lovers, unless you despise musical. It has been more than 15 years when I last saw this movie and thanks to technology I was able to download it and soon will have it on CD and file it on my compilation of movies.

The setting was in Siam, Thailand. The movie was actually played in the big scree in 1956. The King and I is basically one of my favorite musical movie of all times. Superb background, music is great and actors are wonderful. I can't just say simple things about the movie but I really appreciate the art of the movie.

I believe that there is already a remake of the movie who starred Jodi Foster and Chow Yun Fat,  Anna and The King. Both movies are great but the classic one is what really captured my favorite spot.

The SEARs-perience; and the new friends met

It started out as a strange place co'z it was my first time to watch Operations owrking in the floor and monitoring people in flesh. The first day was an awkward thing co'z i never knew just even one person and that i dont know whom do i approach if i need to cascade information. But I was never intimidated with the people who i work with co'z I know they feel the same way too. Seeing at knowing that a new human being is invading their floor, it will also be an awkward thing for them to approach me.

Don Bernard was the first person I spoke with and he was accomodating enough to let me feel at ease in dealing with the new environment. I, together with his Team, were staying in Don's bay situated just a reach away from the BMs, ACs and Managers.

I rendered service with Sears for just 11 days but this has been one great opportunity and i meet new friends and gained to laugh with friends as well.

TLs Mitch, Jonah, Ged, Zuriel and TTLs Sarah, Feve and Don, call audit man Sherwin, Trainers Aaron and Deric, everybody was accommodating and has made my stay with SEARs a blast.  And, i cant forget RIiza, Collene, Joed, Geo and the rest of the SEARs gang. The SMEs and the agents who has been a part when i set my foot in this platform. Whoa! I enjoyed my stay here. I wish i could still stay longer and for this time, i would like to check more on how the campaign is working.

I may have been so slow in gaining friends with my 11 days stay but i guess as the day progresses this new smiles shared with Operations will last as the days go by.

This day is my last day with them and im still looking foward to work with them.

Work, People, Friends, MATTERS!

I am currently at work while i am writing this blog. It is always so enticing to come to work when you know that the place will make you happy, the people will make you smile and the workload gives you a spare time to not think about the things around you, bothering you.

Sometimes i feel like i love to stay in the office. For no reason at all. I just love how i feel when i am working in front of the pc and knowing that there are people around you ready to tap your back for a quick smoke break or calls you and invite you for a lunch break. Its a sign though that you exist not just at home but at the same time in your workplace.

For the past few days, my mind has been wandering the realms of blank thoughts and more often thinking about the vagueness of things that people can think about. Ugghh.

These are the times when i tell myself to set back, relax and enjoy the show. Meaning, i got to work, work, work and work. that is how i define relaxing. The more im working the more im relaxed. But the aftermath always tells me that its too much.

I worked 16 hours yesterday and after the shift, i immediately went home, took a mid-day course and 10 minutes later i was on a ride to the vast imagination of REM co'z i know 8 hours alter I got to go to work again.

What drives me to work really is the fact that there are special people who are waiting for you. Special in the way that they see you as someone who can be their bit of joy for the day or the pillow for comfort and sometimes the million dollar friend. I often wonder why i gain this people. My charisma is not that good or maybe jsut because of my being amiable. LOL! :D.

Anyways, right now i am sharing a laugh with friends in a chatroom. Sometimes this is our way to fight stress and yes it does work for me. I can never have a dull work moment in any day unless someone tries to pull the trigger and brings out the worst of me.

Geez...

Ne-yo's "In The Way; or humming those old hopeless romantic songs

For the last couple of days, my eardrums were stuck listening with this song from Ne-yo (In the way). This was actually a part of his "Year of the Gentleman" album, released on September 2008, in which was a bonus track along with So Sick, Because of You and Sexy Love (the 3 mentioned have made its way to the music biz).

It is always important to me that the first notes or the opening tune of the song would capture my ears co'z that is the time that i need listen deeply to the song. After that, needless of who sang it, if the over-all melody is good that would be a worth listening to me. And lastly, i need to know what is the message of the song.

Sometimes I call myself a hopeless romantic who falls for songs that has brokenhearted themes. And most of the times, my playlist are more about longing, hoping and dreaming such that I sometimes consider myself a loner.

Here is the lyrics of the song:

Ne-Yo - In The Way
Thought I get to see your face again
But my flight got cancelled wouldnt stop raining
So two days three flights later I touchdown
But there was trouble with you family and now your outta town
And I don't like it no this aint cool
Feelin like theres something just dont want me near you

The world keeps getting in the way
Trying to get to you but it seems like everyday is something new
Baby the world keeps getting in the way
With you is where I wanna be but it just wont let me
Cuz it keeps getting in the way

Keeps getting in the way
Said it keeps getting in the way
Keeps getting in the way
Keeps getting in the way
Said it keeps getting in the way

And now were in the same state
But I be in the studio workin extra late (5 in the morning)
And finally I get to leave (im comin home to you)
But by the time I get there your already fast asleep
And I don't like it no this aint cool
Feelin like theres something just dont want me near you

The world keeps getting in the way
Trying to get to you but it seems like everyday is something new
Baby the world keeps getting in the way
With you is where I wanna be but it just wont let me
Cuz it keeps getting in the way

Keeps getting in the way
Said it keeps getting in the way
Keeps getting in the way
Keeps getting in the way
Said it keeps getting in the way

Keeps getting in the way
Said it keeps getting in the way
Keeps getting in the way
Keeps getting in the way
Said it keeps getting in the way

And I don't like it no this aint cool
Feelin like theres something just dont want me near you
Baby The world keeps getting in the way
Trying to get to you but it seems like everyday is something new
Baby the world keeps getting in the way
With you is where I wanna be but it just wont let me
Said it keeps getting in the way

Keeps getting in the way
Said it keeps getting in the way
Keeps getting in the way
Keeps getting in the way
Said it keeps getting in the way

Keeps getting in the way
Said it keeps getting in the way
Keeps getting in the way
Keeps getting in the way
Said it keeps getting in the way

Keeps getting in the way
Said it keeps getting in the way
Keeps getting in the way

Its up to you if you found the lyrics of the song sounds good but I started having this on my playlist since I started listening to this song.

The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien; welcome to my shelf

I was never a fan of the movie Lord of the Rings. Aside from the movie length, dragging scenes can really bore me sometimes. I tried once though to watch it again and this time, I was fascinated with how the story goes and how the characters made the movie worth watching. so it ended with me on the couch for the whole day finishing the 3 parts of the movie. No wonder a lot of my friends have loved the movie.

We all know that LOTR was based of J R R Tolkien's book "The Lord of the Rings" which comes int 3 parts. Some scenes in book were cut in the movie thus its better to read the book again and base the story on what i have watch.

I'm glad i dropped by "Books for Less" again and saw this 3 books in the shelves. Now, i have this 3 books added on my shelf along with the previous books I have.

Next target, Shakespeare books at a low price. Vintage and nice.

Christmas Arts; A Morning to Star with Colors

Because I was so tired yesterday after rearranging things inside the house, my body asked for more time to sleep. I did slept more than 8 hours and woke up early in the morning. With nothing to do, I turned on the computer and tried to browse for something that I ca start my day with. I came to a page http://www.apples4theteachers.com when I tried to surf for some Christmas symbols that we have lived with but was routed to page of cut pictures and actually personalizing them with your chosen colors. Whew! The child in me was back. Well, I guess i just want to share how i did with the pictures or did i put some justice on what i have perceived in the page.

I found it stress relieving. Seeing your own portrayal of what the picture should be is satisfying. My morning is now okay.

Merry Christmas.

The Filipino's Christmas... part 1

December 1.

The humid air is starting to fill the early morning temperature giving me some chills while I am watching a show on TV with windows and doors opened in the wee hours of the morning. I am nocturnal thus these things are pretty normal to me. Despite of the coldness of the wind that passes through the windows and doors, I am laying down on the floor with my head on the pillow wearing only shorts. At least thats how i define comfy when I am at home.

One thing for sure, when this feel of cold air wraps my body, one season is coming knocking at my door, Christmas.

This is the first day of the month where everybody is excited and rushing for things before the day comes. Christmas list are prepared and double-checked. For some others, they are starting to hang those blinking christmas lights and put on some spirit of Christmas in their homes. People are preparing for vaction leaves as well for the big day to be with their family. On this day starts the count down for one Christian holiday celebrated once a year, the Christmas Day.

"Oh come all Ye faithful. Joyful and triumphant..(and the songs goes)"

This day might commence as well for some children to knock on your door singing those traditional Christmas songs and in exchange, the family who were presented with the song should give in some sort of prize and for some others, as we call here in the Philippines, would say "Patawad" and then goes the children mumbling those words "kuripot". Thats one tradition we as Filipinos are fond of, singing christmas carol in every houses every night to ask for some christmas presents in a form of monetary unit. Well, its still one great tradition though.

Fifteen (15) days from now, one Filipino tradition will commence as well. This has been one Filipino tradition before Christmas day comes. We call it "Simbang Gabi" (Mass at Dawn) where every Filipino wake up early in the morning or before the rooster turn on some "cuck-a-doodle-doo's" to go to church, attend the mass and pray. This mass culminates on the dawn of the 25th of December after 9 mornings of attending this mass. Belief says that if you completed the 9 mornings of attending the "Simbang Gabi", it comes out with a wish and that wish will be granted.

Whats exciting as well on this tradition is the after mass activities for friends and families. I am not talking though about activities that will be sweat-sprouting but the traditional early morning breakfast of the native delicacies. For us Filipinos, "Simbang Gabi" is always partnered with puto-bumbong, chocolate drink (tsokolate), ginger ale (salabat), bibingka (rice cake) and a lot more of our native delicacies who find its way more tempting during this season.
mga pagkaing pinoy tuwing pasko
Christmas is one big holiday for every Filipinos. This is the time of the year were family ties plays one great role in celebrating this festive season. It is during this time when one mom separated from her family to work abroad will find time to see them again for a reunion and vacation. For freinds for a get together party. For feuds to be ended with forgiving and forgetting. And, this is the time when everybody is celebrating His birthday.

To be continued.....
