9:30PM I received an SMS from a number registered as unknown in my phone. When i opened and read the message, it was from a friend, a sister (in Greek Letters Organization) that i haven't seen since i stopped college. To my surprise and amazement, i dialled and called the number and was really happy to hear Carol Leyson on the other line.
We talked for more than 30 minutes. I did not even think of how much credit will it cost me for my phone load. I just so miss this girl. I considered her one of my confidante. She was a very true friend and we both consider ourselves as more than mere friends but siblings.
Then goes the past that we both reminisce. We are college classmates. She came from another province and only renting a place to stay near the University we go to. I can still remember those times when we are short with our allowances that we only cook instant noodles and add some "malunggay" leaf. Imagine how would it taste if you try it. Aside from that, most of the times i woke them up to take a bath early in the morning and since their door was locked, i need to shout and scream their names for 5 times before they would wake up and see me at the door.
Well, those were the years. I missed them and I mean it. We both celebrated independence (from not beeing with the family) during those times. We use to party at a nearby karaoke bar and sing a lot (we are both frustrated singers). And, i never can forget those times when Carol is not paying attention in our COMPUTER LAB subject instead she take some naps under the table. What a humor when our professor found out here tactics.
I just then realize, after we converse, i have been here in Manila for quiet a while now. Three (3) years, 1 month and 4 days. Wow! How time flies fast. The last time i saw Carol was during the senior years enrollment where in i have to drop out due to some financial unstability.
Anyways, i learned a lot from those times. I learned from Carol especially about speaking your mind and letting people see what you wnt them to see, hear what you want them to hear and feel what you wnt them to feel. We both are members of ANAKBAYAN during those times but i did not continue my participation as i have a lot of organizationz to attend. It was fulfiiling though to see her continue her membership with the organization. Carol is the type of a lady who is argumentative especially when she knows that she is right. She always stands up whenever she has something to say and prove to people that there people like hear who wants to make a difference.
We are planning to have a get together party by December when i ahve my vacation. and, by then i know i will be happy to see them again and might be inviting them to step their feet in Manila nd try to look for a new job here.
